Directions from M6
Leave the motorway at Junction 36. 
Follow the signs for A590 - Barrow.
After about three miles fork off left. Take the first exit off the roundabout. Signed posted A590 - Barrrow.
Follow the dual carriage way. There's one roundabout. Stay on the A590.
Follow the sign post for Cartmel (there's also a brown 'tourist' sign for Cartmel Priory)
Keep going left at two T junctions.
Cartmel village is about three miles from the dual carriageway.
Take the first right after passing the Pig and Whistle pub on your right. Cartmel School will be on your left.
You're now in Cartmel village centre.
Go over a little bridge into the village square.
You will see the Village Shop ahead of you. Take the right exit off the square, next to the Village Shop (not the first right turn under an archway). Its a tight corner but just go slowly!
Cartmel Race Course is now on your left. (See Google map below)
Take the left turn at the end of the racecourse - signed 'cul de sac'.
Follow the road for about a mile. It winds around. Go past a farm on a tight right hand bend. Carry on up the steep hill past a derelict farm building on the right.
At the top there's a T junction/fork in road - turn left - sign posted Howbarrow Organic Farm. Bramble Byre on the left - two brown wooden gates. Go slowly or you will end up in the farm yard next door!

The Google map below shows the location of Cartmel Race Course. Bramble Byre is situated to the left on the map (about 10 clicks of the mouse!)
Beware: If you use a sat nav giving the post code as the location, it will probably take you to Hill Farm - which is about 1/4 mile down the road. Bramble Byre is situated further up the hill!
